This is not the post you're probably expecting to see from me on this 1st of February, but it's the one you're going to get!
Yesterday was a brilliantly beautiful day in the 'Burgh and we took advantage by going to a local park.
A little fresh air and lots of open space is the perfect antidote for the winter doldrums. That said, this winter has been extremely mild and friendly to us and I cannot complain AT ALL about it. Still, to have 60 degree temps in January is a sweet gift!
So we are embracing life and enjoying our new location.
Some may know that we moved nearly 3 weeks ago- and we are settling in nicely to our new digs. Thanks to my voracious unpacking team of Mom-to-Crafty + Crafty... the kitchen was the first place to get set up and unpacked.
I'm enjoying the spaciousness more and more each day. I love having a big island to work on and bake around and yes, I did make my first cookies at the new house this past weekend!
I realize you may like to see pictures of this island and it's surroundings, right?
well, there's a reason you haven't yet.
Well, on January 1st of this year, my camera stopped working.
We took pictures of the "first turkey I ever cooked" and then it went dead. Just wouldn't turn on or anything. It was only 2 yrs old and I was NOT AT ALL PLEASED.
Apparently I feel that I cannot blog without a camera, because here I am blogging again after a long hiatus and with a new camera. They go together for me.
Anywho- I have yet to take pictures of the new place with the new camera. I'll get on it, promise.
Ah yes, you may wonder what I'm looking like these days.... well, here I am in a very unflattering outfit- maternity panel showing and all. (gosh, I loathe maternity pants and the way they're always falling DOWN)
BUT.... I'll have you know that I'm proud I can zip that fleece jacket up over my 39 week pregnant belly!
It's the little things, right?
Ah, much better, no belly in that last one.
My kids were so excited to see me with a camera yesterday that they SMILED every time I asked them to do so! Isn't that sweet? yes. yes it is.
So yes, I'm 39 weeks now and due date is fast approaching....as in 2 days from today.
That said, I'm not feeling like "it's time" yet and I would love to get to next week.
I am tired of the "big belly" that to some is "not that big" and all, but still, I have some things to still get done and I only recently was able to switch gears from "pack-your-entire-house-up-and-move-it" to "we're-about-to-have-a-new-baby" gear.
The latter is so much more enjoyable.
The kids are getting VERY excited (most of them, that is- more on that in a minute) to welcome the new baby.
Max asks me everyday what day it is and when is Friday and will the baby come on Friday and I hope it's a girl.
{sigh}
that last request may prove to be more difficult than he realizes!
I'm in full "nesting mode" and feeling the need to get things ready for the rare case of my labor starting naturally. It has never happened.... yet.
But I still have high hopes that it could!
In the meantime, I'm spending some quality time with my 4 boys and trying to be patient and understanding with a lack of sleep (already... it's going to get worse before it gets better!).
I continue to reassure this little guy down here that he does NOT have to share a bed with the baby and that seems to help him a bit. But he has been my most "squggly" (read: snuggly, but that's how he says it) of all the boys lately. Giving me tons of hugs and kisses and all that jazz....
I'll take it!
So what questions do you have from the absent Crafty? Let me hear them and maybe I'll get a new post up before #5 arrives!
So many questions! How do you feel about the new baby coming? Does it get easier every time or are there still things that freak you out? Do you have your name(s) locked and loaded? Do you have any traditions that you do each time with a new kid? (maybe a signature pic at the hospital, or an outfit they all wear?)
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back :) I'm still laughing about the beautiful day and you're the one with mittens - LOL! Pregnant ladies don't get cold, don't you know?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the last few weeks/days. I know you're trying reverse psychology always talking about the newbie being a boy, right?
I"m not sure which I can't wait to see more: pictures of your new house or pictures of a new baby! Maybe they'll kind of happen at the same time since the house will be the backdrop of many new baby pics! Of course as soon as I am well convinced the germs of viral pneumonia are vanished from my house and home I will just have to invite myself over to see both!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of a fun looking day embracing the mild weather. I know that darn groundhog saw his shadow this morning, but I'm sorta holding out that we can just have more of the same, please!
Dn't know how I missed this post! Adorable pictures of the boys. You looked great going into your last preggo days. Oh and I HATE maternity jeans! Why oh why can't they make them so that they don't sag like a teenage boys pants?!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to house pictures....and TONS more pictures of the little miss. I just so love saying that to you. So freaking awesome! Woohoo.
